What is the Spring-Ford FUSION?

This is a year round travel program for the players here at SFYAL.

Why is SFYAL doing this?

In an effort to provide enhanced performance and competition, Spring –Ford Youth Athletic League is creating this new pilot program. This program will be for those players that wish to play Softball year round. This program is designed for those with the dedication, drive, and skill level needed to compete at a high level of competition. Team will be separate from any other SFYAL programs.  Players that wish to be a part of this are required to still participate in SFYAL programs. (Spring Recreational season, Fall Softball, Winter Clinics, and Summer All-Star Programs). If you do not participate in SFYAL Spring Recreational season you are not permitted to try out for this program. Being part of this program does not guarantee you a roster spot on the Babe-Ruth All Star team. Activities will be minimal during regular programs as to not take away from those programs.  Our main focus will still be the Babe Ruth-sanctioned tournament season.  This team will provide a challenging environment and rewarding experience for all the players that wish to participate.

FAQ's -

Is there a tryout?  Tryout dates will be posted to this website.  Tryouts are open to anyone who registered for the previous Spring program.

What age do you have to be to participate?  For 2012 we are only doing this as a pilot for our 12u program.  We would like to expand this to our 14u and 16u programs if there is interest.

How is the team selected?  Team(s) will be selected by the coach based upon ability, attitude, dedication, and many other variables.  This team will require a large committment of time and dedication.

What is the cost of this program?  The opening registration cost is $210.  That will get you practice wear and your uniform.  After that all tournaments are extra, entry costs for tournaments will be split evenly between players.
